This role is responsible for building a book of business, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring seamless execution of shipments. <br> <br> The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at problem-solving, and is motivated by performance-based earnings. <br><br><b> Key Responsibilities </b> <br> <br> <b> Sales & Business Development </b> <br> <ul> <li> Prospect and develop new shipper relationships through cold calling, email outreach, networking, and referrals </li> <li> Build and manage a personal book of business </li> <li> Negotiate competitive freight rates with customers </li> <li> Identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts </li> </ul> <br> <b> Carrier Procurement & Management </b> <br> <ul> <li> Source and vet qualified carriers </li> <li> Negotiate rates to maximize margin while ensuring service reliability </li> <li> Develop and maintain strong carrier relationships </li> <li> Ensure all carriers meet compliance and insurance requirements </li> </ul> <br> <b> Freight Operations </b> <br> <ul> <li> Coordinate and dispatch shipments from pickup through delivery </li> <li> Track loads and proactively communicate updates to customers </li> <li> Troubleshoot and resolve service issues in real time </li> <li> Manage documentation including rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs, and invoicing </li> </ul> <br> <b> Financial Management </b> <br> <ul> <li> Manage gross margin on each load </li> <li> Accurately input load details into TMS </li> <li> Assist with billing and collections as needed </li> <li> Monitor profitability and KPIs </li> </ul><br><br><strong> Qualifications </strong> <br><br><ul> <li> Must have business to business inside sales, and / or transferable customer account management experience. </li> <li> Must have a bachelor's degree </li> <li> 2-5 years of freight brokerage or 3PL experience preferred </li> <li> Proven ability to develop and manage customer relationships </li> <li> Strong negotiation skills </li> <li> Excellent verbal and written communication </li> <li> Ability to multitask and manage high shipment volume </li> <li> Proficient in TMS systems and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace </li> <li> Highly organized and detail-oriented </li> </ul> <br> Note: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
